He adds oversight for Standard Media’s ABC affiliate to his previous duties as director of sales on May 1.
Standard Media Group’s ABC affiliate KLKN Lincoln, Neb., has promoted Daniel Talley to general manager/director of sales.He succeeds Kern Dant who was promoted to chief revenue officer for Standard Media in February.Talley’s new post is effective on May 1.
He began his career in media sales in 2014 as an account executive at WTVO Rockford, Ill., and distinguished himself through his strategic thinking and client-focused approach. His talent and drive led to a series of promotions including digital sales manager and then years later to local sales manager where he played a key role in expanding revenue and implementing innovative marketing solutions. He joined Standard Media in 2020 as director of sales for KLKN.
In making the announcement, Deb McDermott, President & CEO of Standard Media said: “Under Dan’s guidance as director of sales for KLKN, we’ve seen tremendous growth and innovation, and we are confident that Dan will continue to drive success in his new role.”

Mark K. Miller began covering the television industry in 1975 when he joined Broadcasting magazine as an editorial assistant, becoming a staff writer. He moved to editing, becoming managing editor of the renamed Broadcasting & Cable in 1991. Mark left B&C at the end of 1998, but continued his association with the company as managing editor of B&C’s new monthly tabloid magazine, Digital Television, until it ceased publication in December 1999.
